Verified ReviewerResolved: Very bad Customer Service - wish I'd seen this before I bought
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I contacted the BBB as well and only when it was in front of the BBB did they offer a partial refund.
They still claim they do not have a return policy which is not true. They just don't want to honor it.
I suspect that I can't return it, and now, after reading the reviews, it seems it has to be shipped in the original boxes, which are cut open in order to retrieve the mat. I could tape them back together if needed, but my guess is that they won't accept this return, even though their website asserts otherwise. I sincerely hope one of my dogs uses it because it was a significant amount of money for a dog bed.
I really wish Purple Mattresses were still selling dog beds. Those were quality products and priced more competitively.
Preferred solution: Full refund

NOT GOOD
I am a repeat customer. First bed in 2013 was great, 2nd bed no problem.
I just purchased the 3rd bed in July 2019. With difficulty purchasing the bed I called and ordered over the phone with a delivery date July 6th. July 10th I tried to find out about delivery, no one knew where it was. Never got any further responses.
July 11th tried to check on the order only to be shuffled to an email address with a response in 24 to 72 hours. Well, my dog passed away this morning so I tried to find out how to return the bed. NO ONE KNOWS!
Really disappointed in the downfall of service. I might add, these orders were xlarge ortho beds with liners for great danes, not cheap!
Toothless Dogs Only
If you have a toothless dog then this product is right for you, bought my large Mammoth oval bed less than two months ago and as you can see by the picture my dog opened it up like a hot knife through butter. My dog being the most ferocious of all breeds - PB Golden Retriever (soft bite).
It’s been stitched up and turned into his Franken-bed as we shop around for a more durable product.
I was pretty disappointed as I had done some research and this company seemed pretty reputable and the fact this product is mid-range expensive and supposedly geared towards larger more physical breeds. Lesson learned for this old dog I guess.
Resolved: Over $300 that was enjoyed for 2 weeks
I chose to donate the bed to a rescue organizaion in our area. Mammoth was going to donate it to one of their organizations because returned beds are not for re-sale.
I didn't want to spend an additional $60 to return ship and them get the recognition as a 'generous donation' to boot. Terrible service.
I wouldn't say resolved to my satisfaction, but I won't be dealing with Mammoth anymore, so that is my resolution.
I was given a lengthy set of return instructions. It had to be returned in its original packaging, no dog hair, not to have been washed and the list went on and on.
They advised that they could not re-sell the bed, so instead, it is donated to local shelter organization of their choosing.
I'm out the money anyway and didn't want this business to be recognized for their 'generous support', so instead, we donated it to one of our favorite rescues. Seriously, Kirkland beds from Costco are much better beds and who doesn't have to wash their dog beds on a frequent basis?
end of business on March 12, 2018 and still haven't received return instructions. I'm going to keep posting here until this matter is resolved.
Customer service is very important, though it seems lost in today's business models. I cared enough to do the research and spend the money on a quality bed for my bulldog's health. I'm also disabled so having to spend 4 1/2 hours washing a bed and then fighting with it to put it back together, is not what I had in mind for us. Wonder how many days I will have to spend posting to this site before I can mark this matter as resolved.
More importantly, how long will it take to get my funds returned on my credit card. Doubt it will be a one hour processing like it was when they took it for my order.
Contacted the company, the Ontario, Canada location. Telephoned, voicemail only and was directed to website to livechat.
The livechat operator had the personality of a pencil and advised that I had to contact them via email to return my items. I jumped the third hoop they put in place, and on Friday afternoon, I was sent an email at 3:11 pm, informing me that they would be closed until Monday, March 12, 2018, and that I would be sent an email with return instructions 'promptly'. I sent them an email 4 minutes later asking why send a 'closure' email when they should have just sent the return instructions. I also noted that their customer service needs a lot of work.
No 'prompt' email received and it's Monday, March 12, 2018.
Funny though, they processed my payment within the hour it was ordered, so there's nothing wrong with the payment processing. Not impressed.
Large rectangle bolster with orthapedic mattress and 2 crate mats. Large bolster and 1 small crate mat cover.
It has been nearly 3 hours. The velcro construction is not going to hold up. Here is a novel idea....ZIPPERS. I am not happy.
Costco has better beds.
I do not recommend. After 1 wash, the lack of quality construction shows.
Numerous issues
I purchased two oblong large beds. Horrible decision.
The pillow doesn’t fit in the bed. It’s akways lifted. The material stains. Washing the bed is next to impossible the Velcro rips my skin as I’m taking it apart.
To ge the tube back in I’m practically in tears from the Velcro hurting me, the tube barely fitting it then the pillow not sitting properly.
For two dogs I spent over $300. I won’t even mention the *** I went through when the beds got lost in transit for delivery.
Disappointed return customer
I ordered 2 couches for my 2 great danes. The first order was great and I recommended this company to other owners.
I ultimately had to order 2 new couches for my danes as 1 of them over time did chew *** in the one and the other flattened it a bit so I wanted to replace them for the exact same beds. I ordered by clicking on my acct and order the same product again. The mattress option did not pop up as it did the first order so I put it in the comments that I wanted the exact same as before. They were received and the mattress that were sent had a very small amount of filling and the top of the couch wouldn't stand up but lay on the floor.
So I contacted mammoth and they told me I received the filling not the mattress as before. I re-iterated that I specifically made a notation to send the same mattress etc as before. They weren't going to rectify the situation so they sent "at an extra charge to me" the mattress I should have received to begin with.
The beds are still not the same as the initial ones. I will not order from them again or suggest their company to anyone.
Preferred solution: 2 new couch beds for my danes - exact ones I ordered the 1st time
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
My review is long but PLEASE READ TO END! I had been reviewing high quality beds for months, and had my heart set on one from another company, but then came across Mammoth.
After weighing out all my pros and cons, I decided to order from them, mostly because they are Canadian, and the reviews were good. I figured if it arrives and it's not what I hoped, I would just send it back. I did all the measurements etc as per their recommendation on the website, and bought an XL bed from this company for my 150lb Great Dane. I must admit, it arrived promptly and seemed to be of good quality.
I had paid for some upgrades (memory foam/nylon liner etc) as my dog was six and I wanted him to be comfortable with lots of support as he got older. I liked it, however, my Dane slept stretched out, and I could see he just needed a bit more room. So the next day I tried to contact them to request to exchange the bed. Everything the same, just one size bigger (XXL).
No answer on the phone, Live chat directed me to email support. I sent an email, and got a same day response, but all they did was ask questions about my dog. Size, weight, age, how he sleeps etc. I answered, but did not hear back.
(This was Dec 21st, 2016). On Boxing Day I tried live chat. No answer, and an hour later I got an email. They told me to be patient because it's the holidays and they are closed until the New Year.
So I waited, a week past New Years. Didn't hear back at all. Then I tried live chat..got directed back to email, and told again, please be patient, it takes 12-24 hrs for email response, we are assuming this it your first request. I lost my cool a bit and explained how I had already been very patient, and waiting too long!
I got an email back stating the bed I bought is big enough for my dog. I said it isn't, and why is this a problem, they will benefit if I get the bigger bed ($100 more). Then they said we are working with you, and will exchange the bed, but the next size XXL is custom and cannot be returned. I said that's fine, I know it will be better and he will be more comfortable.
A few more messages, then get told I have to pay to ship it back ($48). I can find any info on exchanges/returns on their website--they inform me it's all in the "terms and conditions" when you purchase the bed. So we finally arrange the return last week (it's been a month at this point). I sent mine back on Monday, with hopes to have the new one this weekend.
On Thursday night, (January 26th, 2017) MY DANE PASSED AWAY UNEXPECTEDLY due to Heart Failure. He died in my arms. I am heartbroken. That same night I emailed them in hopes the bed had not been sent, and also in hopes that there would be an exception to the "no exchange/refund" on the XXL bed., however I then saw that it had.
The response they sent was "we are so very sorry for your loss, but it was made very clear to you that this bed cannot be returned." The bed arrived the next morning, and my dog was gone. That was it! I'm out $400, on top of losing my beautiful boy.
Shame on this company, absolutely horrible customer service and no empathy. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY!

Bad customer service
i was chatting with their customer service to try to get more info about colors and styles and whether or not they had any vendors in the city where i could go and see the product. when i said i wanted a color they didn't have and it will take a month to get in, i was told "we can't work miracles".
i called this rude but went on to ask more questions but not long after this they suddenly ended the chat, effectively hanging up on me.
i am not a fan of bad customer service and would not give them my business. now that i have seen these other complaints i guess i am lucky.
Mammoth Outlet - Extra Large Pet Bed Review from Honolulu, Hawaii
My partner had purchased 2 large dog beds from this operation because they were advertised to be water resistant. $500 later we have the dog beds outside in the dog run as was their intended purpose & sure enough it took just one day out in the rain to become completely water-logged.
If anything these beds acted like huge sponges. It was only after we took them completely apart & had them hanging over a fence for a week or so did they finally dry out. We contacted customer support where we voiced our disappointment & asked to return these or at least get some of our money discounted back as we already have plenty of indoor dog beds. They explained that they are not meant to be outdoors as "all outdoor furniture is meant to come inside in the rain".
What? Where is the logic there. We have "outdoor furniture" and guess what it lives outdoors perfectly fine. In other words "water resistant" is false advertising.
What...is it only water resistant In case someone walks by & spills a glass of water on it? What the...And for the hefty price tag a complete sham. They did nothing for us & basicly said sorry suck it up. I ran my own business & my partner is a well respected physician.
If we operated that way with our customers or patients we'd be run straight outta business. Obviously this company cares little for their customer base. And it's a shame as we will be starting in animal sanctuary soon here is Hawaii & will never ever consider business with this company again.
Furthermore we'll make sure anyone else we work with in the "animal" world learns of this as well. Poor business practices!!!
DO NOT BUY MAMMOTH DOG BEDS!!!
Claim to have 24/7 customer service NOT TRUE
Claim to be 100% guaranteed satisfaction NOT TRUE
Claim to be superior quality and long lasting NOT TRUE
They don't answer the phone EVER, have to leave a voice mail. They are never available for live chat, emails go unanswered.
You cannot return the *** bed that you thought was going to be amazing for your aging dog after TWO DAYS of use because the dog "used it".
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!
I have emailed and called every day for the last week and half then they finally wrote back saying it could only be returned if it had not been used. I sent them pictures of the bed after two days.
Don't fall for the "durable" or "100% customer satisfaction guarantee"
So, my dog is a chewer... yes. This is why I was hopeful when I found the mammoth dog bed website and because they state this about their dog beds.... "Mammoth dog beds are made tough and will last if periodic chewing is suspected". There is also a cute little icon that states "100% Lifetime Guarantee" and "No Hassle Returns". Well, don't be fooled and believe they stand behind either of these.
After receiving my crate mat while on my lunch break (no tracking was provided by the way), I put it in my dog's crate thinking that surely my dog wouldn't be able to destroy this in only a few hours until I got back home. Wrong. I wish I could put the picture I have of the bed. It clearly was no problem for her to tear apart. I completely understand that nothing is "un-destroyable", but surely a tough bed would last a few hours.
Now, of course, I contacted (well... tried to) customer service. No one EVER answers the phone. I did leave a voice mail but never got a call back. There was no one available to chat with on their website, so I my only other option was email. Finally, I got a response to my email. The lady offered me a new cover for the crate at a discounted price. I thanked her for the offer but told her it would not work since the cushion of the bed was destroyed as well. She then emailed offering other beds that were on sale. At this point, I was really frustrated because I didn't think that I should have to put any more money (the beds are expensive as it is) into a company that I already do not trust to represent their product. She also came off as rude and unprofessional in the way she replied.
Of course, no one can leave a bad review on the website because you have to email your review. Now, what company would willingly put a bad review on their site. If you look... there are literally no bad reviews... that should have been a red flag for me.
So, I'm hoping that people will do their research before buying from this company. And actually, I think that if you don't have a chewer, these beds would be great. My frustration just comes from their false advertisement and horrible customer service.

Mammoth dog beds fall apart at the seams
I purchased 2 brown extra large dog beds online directly from the company's website. After over a month I heard nothing from them and did not receive any info on time of shipment or even confirmation of order.
I contacted them directly and left several messages with no response. Finally I was able to speak to someone after several attempts. They were not apologetic and made no explanations as to no delivery and no return responses to my contacts. They only stated that they would send the beds when they were ready.
After several more weeks I did finally receive my beds. They went flat almost immediately and one torn at the seam in between the bolster and the bed. It took me once again weeks and lots of left messages before I got in contact with someone. I never did get a call back from customer support.
I finally called stating that I was trying to make a new purchase and was able to speak to someone in person. I was told to email pictures of the damaged bed and original order number, which I promptly did and was told they would evaluate the situation. Once again I waited for a reply and of course did not get one. Now, I knew to go directly to the number for purchases to get in contact with someone and spoke to the same person as I previously had contact with.
She once again asked me to re-email pictures and order info. I stated that I have already done that and requested to speak to a owner or supervisor. She stated that she in fact was the owner and was fully aware of the situation. I asked what there "lifetime full warranty" exactly covered and she refused to answer only stating that they would evaluate my situation.
After several months of much hassle I did eventually receive a new brown cover for one of my beds. By this point the other bed had begun tearing and the new cover I received was a completely different color of brown. When I contacted them and questioned why I received a completely different color of brown I was told that it was normal and that in fact within a matter of days their dye lots change drastically. I asked if there was anyway that I could have two beds of the same color as they are right next to each other and certainly don't match.
She told me that I could ship one of the damaged ones back and they would look into trying to repair them. However, I would have to pay for shipping both ways. I considered actually doing this as these beds are rather expensive and I had way to much time invested in going back and forth with this company. Only to find out they are located in CANADA and needless to say shipping would have cost me a small fortune.
I purchased new matching beds locally and put the one replacement mammoth bed outside. Quite a large investment for an outdoor bed.
All I can say is they have perhaps the worst customer service I have ever dealt with and they should definitely be monitored closely as to have to sell a better product and actually stand by a lifetime warranty if they state so in their website.
MAMMOTHOUTLET DOG BED- DO NOT BUY!
Described as "industrial strength" and "high quality" on their website...certainly NOT the case. They describe the "filling" as being a high density memory foam.
It is cheap fiber fill. They DO NOT back their products or OFFER a refund or REPLACEMENT despite a website that states "satisfaction guaranteed".
They even insinuated I had brought an "extra cover knowing that my dog would rip it" (I did buy another cover but as a direct "change of cover" so when I washed the cover, I could replace it straight away). They then said I "needed to pay a further $49.99 + $39.99 for an extra set of covers" when I had a spare set and the actual pillow was damaged...
SIMPLE: DON'T BUY! Extremely poor & dysfunctional customer service.
Mammoth don't respond to their emails (despite stating their email is monitored 24hrs!) & after ONE month, our "top of the range large breed orthopedic dog bed" filling is removed from the outer "donut". It is the same polyester filling from a poor quality neck pillow. Mammoth don't want to know about it & even had the audacity to say it was my fault! I spent $400 (of which $150 alone was shipping)!
What was I thinking?
SAVE your $$ & buy your beloved pet a bed from a company that values their customers & their satisfaction. I have photos but unfortunately cannot upload from my mobile...
Mammothpetbeds.com REFUSES to honor LIFETIME guarantee
MAMMOTHDOGBEDS.COM
We purchased three dog beds to replace three beds purchased from Mammoth 7 years ago. The beds from 7 years ago were great. The new beds are horrible. The original beds were over-stuffed and our Weimeraners just adored them. The new beds are 7 months old and have collapsed. My aging dogs are so uncomfortable it breaks my heart. (I can't afford to replace $300 worth of dog beds I just purchased. ) My dogs try to "arrange" the beds, but the torn bits of scrap foam are inadequate to fill the bed, and they may as well be sleeping on the floor.
Mammoth will not speak to a "customer" unless you are making a purchase. If you have already made a purchase, you must email them. I complied. I wrote a detailed letter, explaining my concerns. My submission was answered a WEEK later. I was advised that I would need to wash the beds and dry them with tennis balls. No "we're sorry," no "let us know if that works," just two sentences. Ok, I'll try that, and I did. Washing made no difference. I wrote again. No answer. So, I wrote again. Each time I pleaded to speak to a representative. I waited another 5 days. Here is the response:
"As per our warranty located at the top of your invoice, you may send the in for repair, or we can offer you a replacement part at a discount.
Terms & Conditions can be found here: http://www.mammothoutlet.com/Disclaimer&warranty.h
Mammoth support"
Here is what I had written:
"Good Morning,
The beds were washed as per your instructions. The beds are again flat. The amount of fill is not the same as the amount that was in the first set of beds purchased.
My dogs are miserable. My older dog is in pain and pacing when she deserves to be comfortable in her bed. She is leaving my her bed beside my bed to sleep on the sofa in another room. It is difficult for her to get on the sofa and she is not happy sleeping alone. The other two dogs, her "puppies" try to sleep in the beds, but are constantly getting up and trying to "arrange" the beds to be comfortable. No amount of fluffing or washing is going to make the beds satisfactory.
This should not be an issue. The beds have a "lifetime guarantee." As I previously advised, this is our second purchase of three beds from Mammoth. We didn't even ask to exercise the guarantee on the first set as they had lasted so long, and the fabric covers had been washed so many times. After seven (7) years, the filling in those beds was still adequate.
Please advise as to the guarantee. I would be pleased to speak with someone on the phone."
I honestly cannot recall EVER being so angry and disappointed with a company. In total, I have spent almost $600 with them. I have referred family and friends.
Thanks for listening.

We have an ongoing issue with Mammoth Outlet too and am wondering if you have received any contact from them regarding this issue? Are you, or did you send the bed back to them? I posted a review here as well and was told that I would receive return instructions 'promptly'...I'm still waiting, so apparently 'promptly' means as much as their customer satisfaction guarantee.
